Satyr figurine, clay; depicts a satyr with a face stylized as a mask with protruding ears and two horns. The crouching male figure has legs widely apart, supported by a thick tail; hands are raised and touch the head tilted slightly left, emphasizing and exposing the genitals. Face with lush, regular facial hair; small eyes, clearly defined eyebrows and broad nose, thin closed mouth. Hands and legs are treated schematically compared to the carefully modeled face. Made of fine-grained yellowish-tinted clay. Date: 5th century BC previous datings: 2nd half of the 6th century BC–beginning of the 5th century BC; earlier: end of the 6th–first half of the 5th century BC. Place of origin: Corinth. Figurine; height 8.8 cm, width 4.8 cm, depth 4.4 cm; weight 0.04 kg., A small rough-textured figurine with a weathered surface in shades of beige, tan, and brown, shown from the back; the figure has a broad upper body with two raised arms bent so hands rest near the head, a narrow waist, and a lower section that splits into a group of rounded leg forms creating a stable base; the material appears stone-like with uneven pitting and worn edges, and the background is a smooth neutral gray.
