Satyr figurine. Clay figurine depicting a satyr with a face stylized as a mask with protruding ears and two horns. The man is shown crouching with legs widely apart, supported by a thick tail. The hands are raised upwards, emphasizing and exposing the figure's genitals; the satyr's hands touch the head, which is tilted slightly to the left. The face has lush, regular facial hair; small eyes; clearly defined eyebrows and broad nose; a thin closed mouth. Hands and legs are treated schematically compared with the carefully modeled face. Made of fine-grained yellowish-tinted clay. 5th century BC previous datings: 2nd half of the 6th century BC–beginning of the 5th century BC; earlier: end of the 6th century BC–first half of the 5th century BC. Height 8.8 cm; width 4.8 cm; depth 4.4 cm; weight 0.04 kg., A weathered sculptural figure carved from a rough tan and brown material stands on a flat gray surface against a neutral gray background; the figure has a textured, uneven surface with areas of darker brown and faint blackish patches, a rounded head with pronounced facial contours and a slightly protruding beard-like area, raised arms bent so the hands appear near the sides of the head, a narrow torso that flares into sturdy, splayed legs with irregular, worn edges, and an overall earthy coloration combining tan, brown, and subtle darker tones.
