Horse figurine, unknown Cypriot workshop. Schematic horse figurine. Plastically modeled muzzle, strongly rounded at the tip. Eyes marked with convexities. Mane attached. Neck strongly elongated in relation to the rest of the body, flattened at the rear edge, imitating a mane. Body narrow in relation to the neck, cylindrical. Front legs spread out to the sides, also cylindrical. Hind legs designed as a single unit in the form of a cylinder. Traces of polychrome visible on the surface: muzzle and mane reddish-brown, eyes highlighted in black. Traces of black paint also visible on the neck and chest of the animal. 750–600 BC Cypro-Archaic period II, Cyprus. Figurine; height 10.8 cm, width 7.8 cm., A small weathered sculpture with a tall narrow body and a rounded top standing on a base with a few stubby legs, showing a rough textured surface with pitting and erosion; colors visible include beige, tan, light brown, pale gray, and small areas of muted red; the object stands against a smooth medium gray background.
