Amphora, Cyprus, geometric motifs, Cypriot pottery. Large amphora with two horizontal handles, rounded shoulders, and a neck narrowing in the middle, ending with a profiled rim. Decoration in red and black: on the neck formed by sets of lines, stripes, vertical lines, and triangles; on the belly by black lines and stripes. 850–750 BC. Place of origin: Cyprus. Vessel. Height 64.2 cm, width 42.4 cm., A large ceramic vessel with a rounded body, a narrow foot, and a flaring neck, painted in pale beige with bands and motifs in black and muted red; a dark semicircular handle-like feature is painted on the body; several horizontal black stripes and sets of closely spaced thin black lines encircle the vessel at different heights; the neck has vertical and geometric black designs and a broad muted red band near the top; the surface shows areas of wear and small spots of darker discoloration; the background is a uniform gray.
