Jug, Jug on a ring-shaped foot with a low, wide stem leading to a belly. Upper part of the spherical body has a narrow spout. Wide, flaring neck terminates in a simple spout; from both sides of the neck a lug shaped like a flattened cylinder extends above the vessel. Decoration in brown varnish: concentric circles encircling the vessel four below and three above the spout. Foot and stem varnished on top; neck and outer side edges of the lug varnished. Upper part of the lug decorated with a row of transverse stripes. A band of varnish encircles the spout at the base; three stripes decorate the spout on the sides and top. Dated 1050–950 BC; Cyprus, Cyprus–Geometric I District IA. Vessel. Height 12.8 cm; width 6.5 cm., An aged pottery vessel with a round body, narrow neck, and a curved handle that arches from the neck to the rim, featuring a short spout protruding from the shoulder; the surface shows bands of darker painted decoration and weathered, rough areas, with visible wear and small chips, and the piece rests on a flared base. The visible colors include beige, tan, brown, dark brown, and gray.
