Black-finned guttus, guttus, Greek pottery, black-finned pottery. Guttus with a high foot composed of a profiled lower part and a cylindrical, narrower upper part this part is not covered with the finis. Body shaped like a flattened sphere with vertical grooves. A band-shaped handle is located on the right side of the vessel. Long neck with a wide, flared rim. On the upper surface is a convex medallion, surrounded by a single band, depicting the head of Heracles in a lion's skin. Round face, massive nose, wide mouth, large almond-shaped eyes. The lion skin and mane frame Heracles' face. The finis ranges from black to shiny brown. Condition: the handle and neck are cracked and glued; cracks and abrasions in the finial. 3rd century BC, Calvi place of manufacture, vessel, guttus, height 10.7 cm, diameter 11.5 cm, A single rounded vessel with a short neck and a narrow flared rim sits against a plain background, showing a curved handle on one side and a ridged, bulbous body; the surface is primarily black with worn areas revealing brown and terracotta tones, and there are a few lighter scuffs and spots on the finish.
