Megarian bowl, Monogramist's Workshop, 2nd half of the 2nd century BC, Ephesus discovered in, Ionia place of origin, vessel, weight 0.134 kg, A shallow rounded bowl photographed against a plain gray background, with a worn reddish-brown surface showing patches where a lighter tan color has flaked away; the bowl features several horizontal bands of carved decorative patterns including a band of small geometric motifs, a band of repeated petal or teardrop shapes, and a lower band with larger overlapping petal motifs, all highlighted by the lighter tan showing in the recessed carving.
