Vessel base. Funnel-shaped vessel base, narrowest at about 2/3 of the height. Both rims are oval in cross-section, slightly upturned; the upper rim has a slightly wavy line. Made of Nile clay. Outer surface and surface of the upper rim smoothed, covered with a layer of engobe and polished; remaining inner surface smoothed. Vessel color: red. Reassembled from several fragments; gaps filled with plaster. Surface eroded in places. Comparative reference: similar form illustrated by Reisner fig. 282, C,4240, dated to the Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Dimensions: height 23.9 cm; rim diameter 16.9 cm; bottom diameter 19.6 cm. Origin: Edfu. Creator: unknown., A top-down view of a round, hollow object with an inward-sloping funnel shape, showing a rough, weathered surface in shades of brown and tan with variations of darker brown around the central opening; the background is a flat light gray.
