Bowl, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC Early Dynastic III period. Deep bowl with a rounded, slightly flattened, carelessly thickened bottom from which the bowl walls emerge in an arched line. In the upper part the walls are slightly inclined towards the center. The straight, low rim is distinguished by a carelessly engraved line on the outside. Clay vessel; tableware. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Khabur Basin, Al-Jazira; discovered at Tell Jassa el Gharbi Northeastern Syria. Height 8.7 cm, width 14.4 cm., A round shallow bowl viewed from above with a smooth inner surface showing a weathered, uneven texture; the bowl has a muted palette of beige, light tan, and pale brown with a few darker brown patches and small areas of grayish discoloration, and the rim appears slightly lighter than the interior.
