Globular vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop Khaburu Basin, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, vessels for oils and ointments, clay vessel, Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, Al-Jazira Syria; Iraq; Mesopotamia, globular vessel with a spherical belly that at 3/4 height merges into short, sloping shoulders with a narrow, slightly flared neck; part of the neck and spout missing. c. 2600–2350 BC; Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Jassa el Gharbi north-eastern Syria. Vessel; height 13 cm, width 10.9 cm., A roughly spherical object with a textured, worn surface in tan and beige tones sits against a flat gray background, showing small pits, scratches, and a few darker spots and smudges; there is a small area of chipped or rougher material near the top and a slightly darker, dirtier band along the lower edge, with subtle variations of light and shadow across the surface.
