Globular vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop Khaburu Basin, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Vessel for oils and ointments, clay; globular vessel with a spherical belly that at 3/4 of the height merges into short, sloping shoulders with a narrow, slightly flared neck. Part of the neck and spout is missing. Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Al-Jazira Syria/Iraq, Mesopotamia; Tell Jassa el Gharbi Khabur basin, north-eastern Syria. Height 13 cm, width 10.9 cm., A rounded pottery object with a rough, worn surface in shades of beige and light brown sits against a plain gray background; the top area is broken with jagged fragments and an irregular opening, and there are a few surface imperfections and spots of darker brown and pale discoloration across the body.
