A globular vessel, likely from a Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. The body rises to about 3/4 height into sloping shoulders from which a low, narrow neck emerges, terminating in a thickened, flared rim; the transition from body to shoulders is emphasized by a shallow, wide horizontal groove. Made for oils and ointments; vice-free ceramic. Origin: Al-Jazira Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia, Tell Jassa el Gharbi Northeastern Syria. Dimensions: height 10 cm; width 9.7 cm., A round, rough-textured clay vessel with an open circular mouth viewed from above, showing a dark empty interior and uneven, weathered surfaces with small pits and chips; the vessel is in shades of beige, tan, light brown, gray, black inside the opening, and the background is a muted slate gray.
