Tall bowl, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop. Tall bowl with a small, flat bottom. The walls of the vessel, tilted at the bottom, become vertical at 1/3 of their height, terminating in a straight rim separated from the outside by a shallow, engraved line. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period Early Dynastic III; ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Tell Abu Hafur North-Eastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin. Vessel; height 11 cm, width 11.6 cm, weight 250 g., A roughly rounded vessel with a wide open top and a tapered base sits against a plain background; the surface shows a textured, slightly rough finish with visible striations and patches of wear; colors visible include beige, tan, light brown, and hints of off-white and gray; the rim appears slightly uneven and the interior shows similar coloration and texture to the exterior; overall the shape is symmetrical with a subtle vertical variation in tone around the body.
