Kylix with a depiction of a mermaid and sphinxes, Griffin-Bird Painter, fantasy creatures, sphinxes, sirens; Greek pottery, 570–550 BC previously dated ca. 545 BC, Attica; vessel kylix; weight 0.314 kg, A round ceramic vessel seen from above with a central recessed area, a wide black circular band with scattered small chips revealing the underlying color, concentric rings, and an outer orange surface decorated with black painted motifs; the vessel has two loop handles on opposite sides showing wear, and visible colors include orange, black, and small areas of lighter tan where the surface is worn.
