Terracotta figurine of a woman, unknown Boeotian workshop. Mold-pressed terracotta figurine of a standing woman in a long chiton. Head set on a thick neck; oval face with a large nose and almond-shaped eyes. Arms bent at the elbows, forearms raised so that the hands are pressed against the shoulders. Right hand holds a cylindrical object probably a fragment of a longer element. Traces of brown and red polychrome. Condition: left hand broken off, surface worn. Ca. 550 BC. Boeotia. Figurine, height 23 cm, width 7 cm., A standing figurine with a worn, textured surface in beige and light tan with darker grayish-brown patches, showing a simplified head with faint facial features and stylized hair, narrow shoulders and arms held close to the body, a long straight torso and skirt that flares slightly at the base, and a smooth neutral gray background.
