Foot-shaped aryballos, Ionian workshop, aryballos, antique vessel. Yellow-orange clay with mica; matte black engobe on the surface. Shaped as a foot shod in a sandal with a thick sole connected to braided leather straps. The foot ends above the ankle and merges into a narrow neck terminating in an outward-turned rim, decorated from above with radiating lines. A wide, ribbon-like handle is attached vertically to the spout, bearing an image of a rooster surrounded by dots. Preservation: the front part of the foot is filled with plaster. Date: end of the 6th – beginning of the 5th century BC.
