Figurine of a rider on a horse, Cyprus. The entire piece is schematic, the overall shape is emphasized and lacks detail. The horse is small with a short torso, cylindrical slightly tapering legs, and an unmarked tail. The neck is very long and vertical; the muzzle is large; the eyes are slightly convex; the ears are small; the mane is short and trimmed. The rider sits upright, close to the horse's neck; the torso is short; the legs and arms are indicated. The head is large with a clearly defined profile and a particularly prominent nose; the eyes are unmarked. At the back of the head is a vertically sloping adjacent ridge interpreted as a helmet plume the helmet itself is not marked, only the overdeveloped top of the head suggests its presence. Date: 750–600 BC previously dated 7th–6th century BC. Type: figurine. Dimensions: height 14.9 cm, width 11.1 cm, depth 4 cm. Creator: unknown., A roughly textured sculptural object with an off-white to beige surface and patches of light brown, shaped like a simplified animal with a long neck and snout and a vertical form rising behind it, both forms appearing fused and showing irregular contours and worn edges, with a few darker grayish spots and small areas of reddish-brown, standing on a base with a few uneven legs and casting a soft shadow on a neutral gray background.
