Orientalizing alabastron with depictions of horses, attributed to Corinth, c. 620–590 BC. Small aryballos/alabastron vessel height 10.0 cm with supplement; preserved original height 8.4 cm; width 4.7 cm; weight 0.066 kg. Decoration: remnants of radial ornament under the rim and on the underside; pairs of stylized horses positioned opposite each other, ending in bird-like tails, occupying the vessel’s height; very precise engraved modeling; red retouches and small filling ornaments rosettes. Technology/materials: smooth surface, yellow clay clay color 2.5 Y 7/4; black varnish 10 YR 2/1; red paint 7.5 R 4/4. Notes: reconstructed rim; visible chips and impurities., A single slender vase with a rounded body and a wide flat rim stands on a clear support against a neutral background; the vase is primarily a warm beige color with painted areas in black and dark reddish-brown, showing a stylized scene of two mirrored human figures with long wavy hair and bent legs facing each other, decorative floral or star-like motifs between and around them, vertical brushstroke details near the neck, and areas of wear and surface irregularity on the rim and body.
