Orientalizing alabastron with depictions of horses, circa 620–590 BC, Corinth. Small aryballos alabastron; vessel height 10.0 cm with supplement, original preserved height 8.4 cm, width 4.7 cm, weight 0.066 kg. Decoration: remnants of a radial ornament under the rim; paired horse prototypes positioned opposite each other, ending in bird-like tails, occupying the vessel’s full height; very precise engraved modeling, red retouches, small filling ornaments rosettes; radial ornament on the underside. Technology: smooth surface, yellow clay. Notes: reconstructed rim, visible chips and impurities. Clay color: 2.5 Y 7/4 pale yellow; varnish color: 10 YR 2/1 black; red color: 7.5 R 4/4 red., A small egg-shaped ceramic vessel with a flared rim stands on a clear support; its surface shows a cream background with painted black and dark reddish-brown decorations, including a large stylized animal figure with a curled mane and elongated snout rendered in black with fine incised lines, surrounded by several dark flower-like motifs and spotted accents, and areas of wear and slight discoloration on the cream surface.
