Amulet plaque with a relief representation of two deities: a lion-headed goddess in a long robe, with a sun disc and a uraeus on her head Sekhmet, and a naked lion-headed god with a uraeus on his head possibly Mahes. The god appears to have paws instead of arms and legs. Ptolemaic Period, 332–30 BC, Egypt. Amulet plaque. Height 6.7 cm; width 2.7 cm., A small sculpted object with a glossy bright blue surface covering most of its form, showing a vertical rectangular shape with worn and rough gray-brown areas where the blue glaze is missing, and a raised pair of simplified humanlike figures standing side by side with rounded heads, elongated torsos, and subtle limb suggestions; the surface shows irregularities, pits, and slight dark speckling within the blue, and the base is slightly flared with uneven edges and a mix of blue glaze and exposed darker material.
