Sculptural model - head of Ptolemy II, Ptolemy II Philadelphus ruler of Egypt; 285–246 BC, sculptural model, Egyptian sculpture, male head, sketches of male heads. Oval, rather full face; almond-shaped, slightly slanting eyes with the upper eyelids marked by a double incision. Eyebrows weakly marked, sloping slightly downwards toward the temples. Nose wide. Mouth protruding with recessed corners. Ears in the form of two loops. Back of the head smoothed, with a base. Ptolemaic period probably reign of Ptolemy II, Egypt. Height 13.5 cm; width 10.5 cm; depth 9.5 cm; weight 2.59 kg., A worn stone sculpture of a human head shown against a neutral gray background, with a smooth blocky top and carved facial features including almond-shaped eyes, a flattened nose, and a faint smile; the left ear is partially visible and the surface shows chips, abrasions, and irregularities. The stone displays shades of gray, beige, tan, and muted brown with subtle darker spots and lighter worn areas. The head rests on a translucent support and a pale cream-colored base is visible beneath.
