Figurine of the falcon Sokaris, guardian of the necropolis; Horus mythology. A falcon stands on a thick rectangular base, resting its tail on the back edge of the base. The bird's head is slightly raised. The beak is long and curved; the body is long, with wings slightly plastically defined in their upper part and the lower part of the wings merging with the tail. The head is black on the sides and back; the front of the head is yellow with a black diagonal check. The eye is marked with white and black paint. A white stripe encircles the neck. The wings are black and red. Bird legs with red and black lines. Late Period–Ptolemaic Period, 664–30 BC, Egypt. Sculpture; height 24.3 cm, width 20.5 cm., A weathered wooden figure standing on a rectangular base with a rounded head and an elongated body, showing worn painted decoration on its surface; the visible colors include beige, brown, black, and faded red, with areas of flaking and patchy wear revealing lighter wood beneath, and the base and lower portion showing rough texture and darker smudges.
