Ushabti, Mummy-shaped figurine standing on a base with a pilaster at the back. Arms crossed on the chest, right folded over left; only the hands visible from under the shroud. Right hand holds a hoe and a twisted rope with a basket slung over the left shoulder; left hand holds a pickaxe. Engraved tools. Smooth three-part wig, high-domed with uncovered ears. Small face, large almond-shaped eyes, worn nose, mouth in a slight grimace. Long beard, slightly tapering, curled at the end and braided. Inscribed on the front of the legs from below the crossed arms to the toes, column of text bordered by vertical lines. 332–30 BC; Ptolemaic Period, Egypt. Shabti; height 10.5 cm, width 3.9 cm., A carved figure shown in profile against a solid gray background, rendered in a weathered brown-beige stone with lighter and darker patches, depicting a standing human-like form with a rounded head, a long beard or chin feature, a suggestion of facial features and an ear, elongated torso and legs, arms held close to the body with carved hands near the chest, and broad flat feet on a small base.
