Shabti overseer Amenemone, acquisition provenance noted, hieroglyphs, funerary figurine, wigs, hoes, grave goods. A shabti figurine depicted in living attire, wearing a knee-length loincloth. In her left hand, bent at the elbow and folded across her chest, she holds a hoe placed on her right shoulder; the hoe's blade reaches down to her hand. The right arm hangs along the body. The face is small and triangular, with only the eyes clearly defined; other facial details are blurred. On the head is a three-part smooth wig tied with a headband, the ends falling down the back; the ears are uncovered. A column of hieroglyphic text on the front of the headband. Text, hoe and headband, and facial details painted in black. c. 1069–c. 945 BC; Third Intermediate Period, 21st Dynasty, Egypt. Shabti; height 8 cm, width 2.3 cm., A small vertical figurine shaped like a standing person shown in profile with a rounded head, a protruding nose and chin, and a long straight body; the surface shows a mottled mix of bright turquoise, lighter aqua, pale blue and some greenish tones, with areas of darker blue and a few dark brown and black spots and streaks; the head has a darker band near the top and the overall texture appears worn and pitted with rough, slightly eroded patches and some sandy brown encrustations.
