Jug. Medium-sized biconical clay jug with wide, rather sloping shoulders and a neck nearly cylindrical in its lower section, widening toward the spout neck height ˜ 1/3 of vessel. Profiled, irregular spout raised and extended on one side to form a small secondary spout; slightly rounded, almost triangular in cross-section with a ~1 mm indentation on the outer profile. Vessel widest at about half its height; bottom almost flat, very slightly rounded. Made on the wheel from Nile clay NB1 Vienna System. Outer surface leveled, covered with an engobe and polished; inner surface leveled. Red-brown in color. Complete and very well preserved. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC, Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu.
