Jug. Medium-sized biconical clay jug with wide, rather sloping shoulders and a wide neck that is almost cylindrical in its lower section and widens toward the spout, the neck’s height about one-third of the vessel. Profiled, irregular spout raised and extended on one side to form a small secondary spout; slightly rounded, almost triangular in cross-section, with a small indentation on the outer profile. Body widest at about half its height; bottom almost flat, very slightly rounded. Wheel-made from Nile clay NB1 Vienna System. Outer surface leveled, covered with engobe and polished; inner surface leveled. Red-brown color. Complete, very well preserved. Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, c. 2494–c. 2181 BC. Findplace: Edfu.
