Vessel made on the wheel of Nile clay, surface leveled. The bottom and lower part of the vessel finished to about half its height with a knife or similar tool. The surface of the vessel is covered with a layer of engobe . Vessel colour – red. c. 2686–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Ceramic Egyptian pottery vessel, clay vessel; height 9 cm, diameter 21.1 cm rim, diameter 21.5 cm shoulders., A reddish-brown clay bowl with a rounded body and a slightly flared rim sits against a neutral gray background; the bowl shows surface scratches and small chips along the rim, a few lighter speckles and patches of wear on the exterior, and subtle variations in the reddish-brown color ranging to darker and lighter tones.
