Medum type bowl, Medum type bowl with carination under the rim. Rim diameter smaller than the diameter of the shoulders. Rounded bottom. Straight, slightly flaring rim. Vessel made on the wheel of Nile clay, surface leveled. The bottom and lower part of the vessel finished to about half its height with a knife or similar tool. The surface of the vessel is covered with a layer of engobe . Vessel colour – red. c. 2686–c. 2181 BC, Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel; height 9 cm; diameter 21.1 cm rim, 21.5 cm shoulders., A broad, shallow bowl-shaped ceramic object with a rounded base and a slightly flared rim sits against a plain light gray background; the surface of the object is a warm terracotta color with areas of lighter and darker reddish-brown, showing a weathered texture with scratches and small worn spots, and there is a noticeable small chip on the rim revealing a paler interior.
