Vessel, Egyptian pottery, conical-shaped clay vessel, widest at ~3/4 of its height with wide, almost horizontal shoulders slightly sloping. Wide, short funnel-shaped neck widening toward the spout; wide spout flat on top, slightly rounded at bottom, slightly asymmetrical. Flat, asymmetrical bottom. Surface leveled; lower part finished to ~2/3 of its height with a knife or similar tool. Outer surface and inner surface of rim and neck covered with a layer of dark red engobe. Vessel color dark red. Vessel complete; surface eroded in many places, numerous clay chips on the rim. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; Edfu. Dimensions: height 16 cm; diameter 8.6 cm rim, 10.7 cm body, 4.5 cm bottom.
