Vessel with wavy handles., Vessel with an elongated belly that widens towards the top. Short, cylindrical neck and rounded, upturned rim. At approx. 2/3 of the height two residual vices resembling an attached roller with a wavy profile are preserved; the vices are placed asymmetrically. Flat bottom. Even surface with scratch marks visible in the upper part. Clay color: light red. c. 3500–3050 BC; Predynastic Period, Naqada II/III Naqada phase IId2–IIIa1. Found at Abusir el-Melek. Vessel for oils and ointments. Egyptian ceramics; height 20.2 cm, width 13.3 cm, weight 0.708 kg., A single large earthenware vessel fills the frame, with a rounded rim opening into a dark interior and a tapered body that narrows toward the base; the surface is rough and textured with small pits and irregularities and shows a few raised areas where clay was added. The visible colors are shades of brown and tan on the vessel, with small white specks scattered across its surface, set against a smooth light gray background.
