Ushabti, Mummy-shaped figurine, funerary shabti, 664–332 BC Late Period, Egypt. Standing on a base, supported by a rear pillar. Arms crossed on the chest with only the hands protruding from under the shroud, holding hoes in both hands. A basket is slung on the back over the left shoulder on a single strap. Engraved tools. Three-part wig styled in narrow strands. Long tapered beard, curled and braided at the bottom. Square face with almond-shaped eyes, pronounced eyebrows, wide nose, and prominent lips in a slight grimace. Engraved inscription arranged in six lines around the figurine; text illegible. Height 15.5 cm., A slender statuette of a standing human figure shown in profile with a long wig or headdress and a beard, rendered in a weathered greenish-blue and brown patina; the figure’s arms are held close to the body and the torso and lower body show incised horizontal bands and shallow carved details; the base is rectangular and the overall surface is pitted and worn with a mix of green, turquoise, brown, and muted beige tones against a plain gray background.
