Votive female head, Female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes, deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs, in which the pupils are marked. The nose is small and straight, the mouth is narrow, slightly parted, with fleshy lips. Strong chin, slightly protruding forward. Slim cheeks, giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd/2nd century BC, Etruria; votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A sculpted head in a warm tan clay color sits against a neutral light gray background, showing a smooth neck and base and a face with gently modeled features and wavy hair carved around the forehead and sides; the expression is neutral with slightly parted lips and softly defined eyelids, and the surface shows subtle texture and variations in the tan tones.
