Votive female head. Female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs, pupils marked. Small straight nose; narrow, slightly parted mouth with fleshy lips. Strong chin, slightly protruding; slim cheeks giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd–2nd century BC, Etruria; votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A sculpted head and upper neck made of a warm tan clay sits against a light gray background, showing a face with stylized curly hair, rounded eyes, a straight nose, and closed lips; the surface has subtle variations in tan and ochre with areas of darker brownish spots and faint grayish patches, and the base flares outward into a smooth, rounded pedestal.
