Votive female head, Female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes, deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs, pupils marked. Small straight nose; narrow, slightly parted mouth with fleshy lips. Strong chin, slightly protruding; slim cheeks giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd–2nd century BC, Etruria; votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A sculpted head in profile made of a warm tan clay-like material with visible rough texture and small speckles, showing a defined nose, lips, chin, ear, and a hooded or draped form over the skull; the surface includes areas of smoother and rougher finish and a few small chips or worn spots, all set against a uniform gray background with a faint reflection beneath the base.
