Winged scarab, protective amulet for mummies and grave goods, sacred animal; scarab amulet with wings; Late Period, Egypt, 664–332 BC; height 5 cm, width 23.8 cm, depth 1.8 cm., A worn wooden object with a long horizontal shape and rounded ends rests against a neutral gray background; the wood shows visible grain lines and variations in brown tones, from light tan to medium and darker brown, with some areas appearing slightly reddish-brown and weathered; a central raised section protrudes on the top and bottom, and next to it there is a patch of rough, fibrous material with a whitish residue and a small square of lighter beige material adhered nearby; the surface has scratches, small dark scuffs, and spots of discoloration, and the object casts a soft shadow beneath it.
