Copy of a Babylonian kudurru from the period of Marduk-naddin-ahhe 11th century BC, Ancient Near East, kudurru copy, Kassite Kingdom 1595–1158 BC, Eastern Gallic scenography, Babylonia Iraq place of origin of the original, 19th century, copy, weight 5.44 kg, A vertically oriented, weathered stone object with an oval top and rounded base sits on a dark, glossy stand; the stone is primarily pale beige with areas of off-white and light brown discoloration and a few darker brown stains, and its surface shows carved, shallow incisions arranged in rows across much of the front; the upper portion of the stone features low-relief carved figures and shapes with similar pale beige and off-white tones; the base of the stone is rougher in texture with more pronounced wear and small chips, and the stand beneath is black and slightly reflective.
