Female terracotta figurine of a standing woman positioned frontally on a quadrangular base. The figure's head, set on a massive neck, is adorned with a polos diadem. The face is oval with a large nose, parted mouth, and clearly defined eyebrow arches. Hair is pinned under the polos and falls over the shoulders and back. The body is almost entirely covered by a peplos with a long apotygm tied at the waist; the garment falls to the ground creating regular horizontal folds. The arms fall along the torso; in the right hand she holds a patera, in the left an object resembling an apple or pomegranate—this attribute allows identification as Persephone. Traces of a chalk polychrome base are visible across the surface; remnants of light red paint remain in the robe’s recesses and dark red polychrome on the top of the base. Ca. 450 BC, Attica. Figurine. Height 34 cm, width 10.5 cm, depth 9 cm, weight 0.75 kg., A weathered vertical stone figure with a rounded top and a hollowed rectangular cavity in its upper portion, showing rough, pitted surfaces and irregular edges; the object has a pair of short protrusions at its sides near the midsection and stands on a wider rectangular base; colors visible include beige, tan, light brown, gray, and small areas of darker brown and black, with a small area of red visible inside the hollow; the background is a smooth gray.
