Terracotta figurine of an actor, Terracotta; Hellenistic period, Greece, 332–30 BC. Figurine of an actor sitting on a pedestal. The head is turned to the right. The legs are crossed at the ankles. The man wears a loincloth and a cloak covering the left side of the body. The left arm is bent at the elbow, and the hand rests on the right cheek. The right hand holds the cloak on the left shoulder. The face is a caricatured mask with a beard. Preservation condition: fragmentary—cheek, left hand, and left calf are imprinted. Height 18.2 cm., A seated statue rendered in weathered stone with a muted palette of beige, pale gray, and warm terracotta tones, showing a figure with crossed arms and a rounded head that has eroded facial features; the figure sits on a block-like seat with softened edges and visible surface wear, including patches of lighter and darker discoloration and rough texture; the background is a uniform medium gray.
