Terracotta figurine of an actor, terracotta, actors, ancient theater, male figurines. Figurine of an actor sitting on a pedestal. The head is turned to the right. The legs are crossed at the ankles. The man is wearing a loincloth and a cloak covering the left side of the body. The left arm is bent at the elbow, and the hand rests on the right cheek. The right hand holds the cloak on the left shoulder. The face is covered by a caricatured mask with a beard. Preservation condition: fragment of the cheek, left hand, and left calf is imprinted. 332–30 BC; Hellenistic period, Greece, sculpture, height 18.2 cm, A weathered stone sculpture of a seated figure shown in profile on a rectangular base, with worn contours and rough texture; the form has rounded shoulders, an arm resting along the side, and a bent knee, with areas of surface erosion and chips. The stone displays a palette of muted colors including pale beige, light gray, dusty pink, and touches of ochre yellow, with patches of white and faint reddish-brown discoloration. The background is a uniform medium gray.
