Figurine of Imhotep, Imhotep ca. 2667–2648 BC; mythology. Seated male figurine holding an unrolled papyrus on his lap, palms holding the ends of the papyrus. Material: papyri. Date: 664–332 BC, Late Period, Egypt. Height 12 cm, width 3.2 cm., A small dark bronze figurine of a seated person with a smooth rounded head and simplified facial features sits upright on a stepped block of yellowish marble with veining; the figure's arms rest on the thighs and the forearms extend forward, the legs bend at the knees with the feet placed on a lower ledge of the marble base, and patches of greenish patina are visible on parts of the bronze surface.
