Snake sarcophagus, Snakes; Atum mythology, Renenutet mythology . Reliquary-sarcophagus in the form of a snake with raised head, coils on a rectangular base—probably the cobra Renenutet, although it may also represent Atum. Late Period, Egypt, 664–332 BC. Figurine; height 3.3 cm, width 5.5 cm, depth 5 cm., A small sculptural object sits atop a rectangular block, showing a dark greenish, weathered metal piece with a hollow rectangular opening facing front and a vertical, irregular protrusion rising from its top; the supporting block is a creamy yellow stone with veining in shades of beige and brown, and the background is a pale gray.
