Reliquary-sarcophagus in the form of a snake with raised head, coils on a rectangular sarcophagus — probably the cobra Renenutet, though it may also represent Atum. Late Period, Egypt, 664–332 BC. Figural work. Height 3.3 cm; width 5.5 cm; depth 5 cm., A small sculptural object sits atop a rectangular base, with a bronze-green upper piece shaped like a sinuous ascending form that resembles a coiled, elongated figure with textured, irregular surfaces and an open triangular gap in its midsection; it rests on a dark green, slightly rough rectangular plinth that shows subtle darker mottling. Below this is a larger rectangular block of polished stone with a warm yellow-beige color and brown-gray marbled veins running across its surface, showing smooth edges and a glossy finish. The background is a plain, light gray that creates a neutral, even setting for the stacked forms. The visible colors include bronze-green, dark green, yellow-beige, brown, gray, and light gray.
