Stamped transport amphora with a Greek inscription Argeio, stamped maker's or official's name. Transport amphora with pointed bottom and conical belly, rounded at sloping shoulders, merging into a cylindrical long neck slightly bulging under the annular rim. Neck stamped with letters arranged in two rows; a rectangular stamp with deeply recessed letters is impressed on the upper part of the neck. Ribbon-like handles protrude from the shoulders, run straight up and bend in an arc where they join the neck under the spout. Eponymous-manufacturer's stamps; stamp impressions indicate maker or official. Greek pottery, transport vessel, ancient pottery. Circa 400–390 BC. From Heraclea Pontica Bithynia; found at Olbia. Vessel type: transport amphora. Weight 6.326 kg; height 63 cm; diameter 26.5 cm., A single tall ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and pointed base fills the frame, showing a smooth, rounded shoulder that tapers down to a conical point; the surface appears slightly rough with small pits and irregularities, and there are subtle circular tool marks and faint surface abrasions. The vessel is a warm beige to light brown color with variations and small speckles of darker brown and tiny pale spots. The background is a smooth gradient of gray tones.
