Lamp decorated with a depiction of a dog, unknown eastern workshop; single-burner oil lamp; dogs iconography; 1st century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476; oil lamp; weight 0.082 kg., An earthenware oil lamp with a rounded body and a short handle, shown against a plain gray background; the lamp has a shallow central reservoir with a raised ridged rim and a small circular fill hole, and a slightly protruding nozzle area; the surface shows worn and chipped areas with a patina of dark brown, reddish-brown, and lighter tan tones, and some blackened spots, with textured clay and small flecks of wear visible across the object.
