The Hor Hieroglyph - relief fragment, Horus mythology. Relief fragment with several preserved hieroglyphic signs. The preserved fragment features a schematic representation of a falcon the Hor sign shown in right profile, above which three ball-like signs are preserved, next to which a triangular sign is preserved. Sections of the side frames remain. 3rd–1st century BC; Ptolemaic Period, Edfu. Inscription, bas-relief. Height 17 cm, width 16 cm, depth 3 cm., A roughly triangular fragment of brown stone with a textured, weathered surface shows a carved outline of a bird in profile perched on a short base, with carved lines suggesting a beak, eye area, wings, tail, and legs; a few rounded carved depressions appear near the top edge and several linear incised shapes run along the right side; the stone displays shades of brown and tan against a pale gray background.
