Jug, A small clay jug without a handle with a biconical body, widest at about half its height. Broad, rather flat shoulders; a separately shaped neck glued to the shoulders, wide and almost cylindrical, about one-third of the vessel's height and widening slightly toward the profiled spout. The spout is irregular, sloping down on one side and extending to form a small pointed lip; in cross-section it is roughly triangular with an approximately 1 mm central indentation on the outer profile. Bottom almost flat, very slightly rounded. Made of Nile clay NB1/2? per Vienna System. Outer surface and inner rim/neck are smoothed and covered with an engobe; remaining inner surface smoothed. Color red-brown. Nearly complete with a small fragment of the rim missing; outer surface slightly worn in places. Probably Old Kingdom 4th–6th Dynasty, c. 2686–2181 BC.
