Spheroconic vessel, deposit provenance unspecified, Polish-French excavations in Edfu Egypt, Islamic art, Arabic culture, Mamluk Sultanate 1250–1517. Ceramics — Arabic/Egyptian ceramics; possibly a Mamluk bomb or aeolip. 13th–14th century, Egypt. Vessel, height 12.0 cm, diameter 8.7 cm. The surface of the belly is decorated with rhomboidal fields with a scale motif, also present on the collar, and rosettes in the stripes separating the fields of decoration. Salt glazing ., A dark brown, rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow, slightly domed neck and bulbous body sits against a light gray background; the vessel's surface shows carved, repeating scale-like patterns arranged in panels and separated by raised, angular ridges, with small floral or rosette motifs interspersed, and areas of lighter brown wear where the carved details catch the light.
