Sarcophagus lid, The deceased in a semi-reclining position, resting his left forearm on a pillow and holding a laurel wreath in his right hand. Dressed in a short-sleeved tunic and a cloak, which when thrown over the head reveals the torso and left arm from shoulder to elbow. The right foot is visible from under the cloak. Proportions of the human figure are very elongated, with especially long legs in disproportion to the torso. 2nd half of the 2nd century BC, Etruria. Sarcophagus; height 71 cm, width 203 cm, depth 48 cm, weight 108 kg., A reclining terracotta figure rendered in shades of beige, tan, brown, and hints of ochre rests on a rectangular base of similar earthy colors, showing the drape of a long garment with flowing folds across the body and arm. The figure lies on its side with a head turned upward, short stylized hair, and a cloth or veil falling behind it; a relaxed arm supports the upper body while the other hand holds a circular wreath-like object. The surface shows weathered textures, small cracks, and areas of darker and lighter patination, and the scene sits against a neutral gray background.
