Amulet — god Bes; maker, Bes mythology, Egyptian deity; Late Period, 664–332 BC, Egypt; amulet; height 7.2 cm, width 3.2 cm., A small sculpted figure shown against a plain light gray background, rendered in shades of turquoise, blue, green, and patches of dark brown and tan; the figure has a flared, scalloped headdress that is darker at the top, a stylized face with deep-set eyes and a pronounced triangular beard area, and looped ear ornaments on each side; the torso is compact with arms bent at the elbows resting on the hips, and the lower body shows bent legs separated by two vertical openings, with worn spots and areas of surface discoloration in brown and tan.
