Udja-hera shabti, Udja-hera ca. 380–343 BC. Mummy-shaped funerary figurine shabti, Late Period, 30th Dynasty, Egypt. Height 15.5 cm, width 3.9 cm. Standing on a base with back supported by a pillar; arms crossed on the chest right over left with elbows and shoulders subtly marked. Holds hoes in each hand with slightly curled handles; right hand holds a twisted rope from which a basket is slung over the left shoulder. Convex tools and an engraved basket depicted. Wears a long three-part wig combed into narrow strands ending in borders; long slightly tapering, curled beard; large ears; proportionate, carefully crafted facial features and a slight smile. Inscription engraved in three columns separated by lines on the front of the legs. Materials/attributes: wigs, hieroglyphs, hoes, beards; function as grave goods linked to the Book of the Dead. Provenance: purchase., A small standing figure sculpture shown in profile on a wooden base, the figure is a greenish-blue with weathered lighter and darker areas, there is a straight-backed support behind it that is translucent pale, the figure wears a close-fitting headpiece and has a stylized beard and facial features visible in profile, the arms are crossed over the chest and the body shows carved vertical patterns along the front of the legs, the wooden base is brown with visible grain and the background is a flat medium gray.
